Phuentsholing is the gateway of the land of thunder dragons, often known as the home of kings and queens of the Himalayan Kingdom. Phuentsholing is a captivating combination of Indian and Bhutanese and a perfect illustration of the mingling of different people and culture at one place. And visitors can take a look at the diversity of Bhutanese, Nepalese, and Indian cultures. The major attraction is Bhutan Gate, the main gateway for entry from India to Bhutan. It depicts the traditional Bhutanese architecture and famous for photography.

Capital of Bhutan, Thimphu gives a chance to visit picturesque scenery as well as offers cafes, bars, nightclubs, discotheques, and restaurants. We can see an impressive fusion of tradition and modernity here. Thimphu is a center of traditional Bhutanese art, architecture, and culture. There are various attractions in Thimphu such as the National Post Office, the Clock Tower Square, the Motithang Takin Preserve, Tango and Chari Monasteries, Buddha Dordenma, National Memorial Chorten, Centenary Farmers Market.

In the heart of the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, there is a small and peaceful town Punakha that retains the historic charm. This place has many experiences to offer. The scenic views of Himalayas, sounds of the Mo Chhu and Po Chhu rivers, the beauty of this gorgeous valley, majestic Punakha Dzong, home to the endangered white-bellied herons awaken the nature lover within you.

The beautiful Paro valley is the widest and greenest valleys of Bhutan. Surrounded by lush rice fields and peaceful Paro River which flows down the valley, this heart of Bhutan stands as one of the best Bhutanese towns. The scenic beauty is for photographers and nature lovers to explore every richness of this place on foot. Paro is an ideal blending of ancient history and breath-taking natural beauty, with a healthy part of modern life in it.

Day 01 Arrival at Bagdogra – Phuentsholing

On arrival at Bagdogra airport, where you would be greeted by our Bagdogra representative at the airport and assist you in your transfer to Phuentsholing (5 hours / approx. 160Km). The city would be your entry point for Bhutan and is the perfect mix of traditions, landscapes, and culture. After your check-in at the hotel, you have the rest of the day for leisure. You could visit the Bhutan Gate (own expense) – the main gateway for entry from India to Bhutan. It is one of the most photographed sites of Bhutan with depictions of traditional Bhutanese architecture embodying the gate. After exploring the city, you can enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel.

Day 02 Phuentsholing – Thimphu

After breakfast you will be transferred to Thimphu (5 hours / approx. 165Km), Thimphu is the capital town of Bhutan. Evening free at Leisure. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 Thimphu Sightseeing

After breakfasts go for Thimphu sightseeing covering Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong, Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodong),Changangkha Lhakhang (Monastery), Motithang Takin Preservation Centre, Drupthob Goemba / Zilukha Nunnery, National Library (Closed on Saturday , Sunday & National Holiday), Institute for Zorig Chusum (Traditional Art & Craft School-Closed on Saturday , Sunday, National Holiday & During Summer & Winter Vacations), Textiles Museum (Handicrafts Shops – Closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holiday), Zangthopelri Lhakhang (Monastery). Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04 Thimphu – Punakha / Wangdi

After breakfast drive to Punakha (1200Mts / 3936Fts, 77 Km / 03 to 3½ Hrs)/ Wangdi (Wangdiphodrang) (1350Mts / 4430Fts, 70 Km / 03 to 3½ Hrs). Punakha / Wangdi is the last town on the highway before entering Central Bhutan. The drive is over Dochu La pass (3080Mts / 10102Fts) which is very scenic with a fascinating view of mountains of Bhutan. Visit Punakha Dzong, If time permits visit the Suspension Bridge and then proceed to Chimi Lhakhang (Monastery). Overnight at the Hotel in Wangdi.

Day 05 Punakha / Wangdi

After breakfast today you the Punakha Valley or can even take the Rafting Options on Punakha River. Back to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Punakha / Wangdi – Gangtey Excursion – Punakha / Wangdi
Today the day started early for a full day excursion to Gangtey & Phobjikha Valley (3000Mts /9845fts, 85Kms / 3 to 3½ Hrs One way ) The valley of Gangtey is one of the most beautiful spots in Bhutan. At Gangtey visit Black Necked Crane Information Centre, Gangtey Goempa (Monastery), Back to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 06 Punakha / Wangdi – Paro

After breakfast transfer to Paro (2134Mts / 7000Fts, 135 Km / 05 Hrs). Enroute Stop at Lamperi to visit Royal Botanical Garden. On arrival Paro, check in to the hotel. Afternoon free at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 07 Paro

After breakfast go for Paro Sightseeing covering Drukgyel Dzong (Presently closed for tourist), Ta Dzong (National Museum-Closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holiday), Rinpung Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang (Monastery), Back to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Paro – Full Day hike to Taktsang Lhakhang (Tiger’s Nest)
Start the day early for a day hike to Taktsang Lhakhang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery) – The hike which is all the way uphill takes about 2 /3 hours one way through pine forests. Afternoon at leisure to go shopping in the market. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 08 Paro – Phuentsholing

After breakfast, you would be picked up from the hotel, at around 8.30 am, for a transfer to Phuentsholing. The distance between Paro and Phuentsholing is 165 km and would take approximately 5 hours to cover. After your arrival and check-in, you would be taken for sightseeing. Here, you would be visiting the Zangtopelri Lhakhang: The structure is a modern replica of Guru Rinpoche’s celestial abode. It is surrounded by a lush scenic garden where you can take a walk or spin the prayer wheels in a gesture that is a huge part of Buddhist rituals. This would be followed by a visit to the Karbandi Monastery: the temple is flocked with visits from couples wishing for children. The temple became a port of call for aspiring parents after an Indian pilgrim became pregnant as a result of praying at this monastery. Along with answering prayers it also offers a mesmerizing view of the Phuentsholing valley and the Bengal Plains. In the evening, you would be dropped back at the hotel for an appetizing dinner.

Day 09: Departure from Phuentsholing (5 hours / approx. 160Km)

After breakfast, you would check out from the hotel and be transferred to Bagdogra airport for your onward journey. End of Services.
